Alyce Kerr Willits

NEW BOSTON, Ill. - Alyce Kerr Willits, 97, of rural New Boston, died Saturday at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jinks Family Funeral Services, Aledo. Burial will be in Green-mound Cemetery, Keithsburg.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today.

Alyce Kerr married Lawrence Willits in 1921 in Peoria. He died in 1984.

She graduated from Brown's Business College, Galesburg.

She was a member of the Aledo Columbian Club, the Aledo Garden Club, a 65-year member of Joy United Methodist Church and a member of the Golden Links Club of the church. She loved her home, Verdurette, in which she has lived since 1921. She was an accom-plished seamstress and an avid bridge player and loved reading.

Memorials may be made to Joy United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Arlene (Mrs. Fred) Rooth, Joy, and Evelyn (Mrs. George) Sheats, Aledo; a son, Bill, New Boston; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Kerr, Chicago.
