After Illinois legislators voted against using tax dollars for an official Rod Blagojevich portrait, we asked readers for ideas. If lawmakers balked at the customary, realistic portrayal, we figured that perhaps interpretive art would suffice.
Quad-City multimedia artist Bruce Walters offered this commentary, which we run today in our editorial cartoon spot.
Walters’ work has been featured in this space before. He’s a former Times illustrator.
Our thanks for this innovative, artistic commentary.
