In response to Raymond J. Keating’s column, reducing the corporate tax would have little effect on small business since he states more than 94 percent do not pay corporate taxes, but income and payroll taxes.
Eliminating the estate tax gives relief to about 1.6 percent of estates, mostly multi-millionaires and very few if any, small businesses. Eliminating taxes on capital gains and dividends would increase wealth disparity and sequester more of our national wealth invested in foreign countries and the Cayman Islands.
