The Iowa State Board of Educational Examiners has revoked the teaching license of a former teacher who admitted to kissing and touching a female student.
Jason Lambert, 27, a vocal music teacher at Mount Pleasant High School, was arrested last July. He pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation by a counselor, therapist or school employee, was sentenced to one year in jail, and voluntarily surrendered his license.
On Thursday, the state board voted to permanently revoke Lambert’s license.
Court records show Lambert, of New London, admitted to the contact with the student but said he thought it was consensual.
He later resigned from his job.
