3 Iowa airports to get $10 million

  • 0

Three Iowa airports will benefit from $10.1 million in federal stimulus money headed to Iowa, Gov. Chet Culver announced
Thursday.
“When the president and Congress passed the federal recovery package, they had one goal in mind: to move these dollars out the door and put people back to work,” Culver said in a statement. “As this announcement shows, in Iowa we are working to make that goal a reality.”
Airports receiving money include the
following:
The Sioux Gateway Airport and Col. Bud Day Field will see $3.97 million to renovate its terminal building. The airport serves as a major base for the Iowa Air National Guard.
The Waterloo Regional Airport is receiving $3.59 million to rehabilitate runway 18/36, which includes overlaying the crosswind runway and installing new edge lighting.
The Iowa City Municipal Airport will get $2.5 million to rehabilitate runway 12/30.
