The next time any government entity request more money from you, the taxpayer, remember Quad-City Times columnist Barb Ickes article regarding the new homes being built on the Rock Island Arsenal Island. Seventy-one homes for $47.6 million; that’s $670,422 per unit. According to the article, this price does not include design cost, nor do I assume the cost of the land or earth work.
Our liberal friends want more and more government involvement and more and more tax money to cover the cost. This is a glaring example of government inefficiency, an inefficiency we cannot afford.
So the next time the government says we need more of your tax money or wants to take over health care, remember those $670,000 townhouses on Arsenal Island that could have been built for half that amount.
