ROGER CRAIG, Davenport Central

He rushed for 353 yards and four touchdowns in the final game of his high school career, a playoff loss to Cedar Rapids Washington in 1978, and continued on from there to have one of the most successful careers of any athlete from the area. He starred at the University of Nebraska and was part of three Super Bowl championship teams with the San Francisco 49ers. He scored three touchdowns in Super Bowl XIX and in 1985 he became the first NFL player to collect 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in the same season.
