Bettendorf's new website includes more interactive elements, like signing up for push notifications, looking up basic information about your address like who your alderman is, and submitting online applications for things like business licenses. The site also brings its ADA Accessibility up to speed, including options to enlarge text, change color contrasts, and image readability. Plus, the site can be translated into several different languages.

Iowa OSHA gave notice it would not be implementing the federal OSHA’s vaccine-or-test mandate, which is currently being challenged at the Supreme Court. Private businesses in Illinois are covered by the federal rule. Illinois’ state OSHA, which covers local and state governments, said they will adopt the federal rule. Cities in the Quad-Cities say they will follow their state’s guidance.

Davenport city officials last summer deemed the Crestwood Apartments on E. 37th Street uninhabitable, displacing dozens of renters, after owners and management failed to make repairs to respond to substandard housing conditions. Now, roughly 20 renters face a similar prospect as the same Minnesota-based housing cooperative has failed to make repairs to address substandard housing conditions at another of its Davenport rental properties.
