Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell was named today as the winner of the 2017 Jack Lambert Award, presented by the Touchdown Club of Columbus to the top linebacker in college football.
The Hawkeye senior leads the Big Ten and ranks third nationally with 125 tackles this season, an average of 11.4 per game, and he is a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award and Senior CLASS Award.
The Decorah, Iowa, native is a semifinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and was a semifinalist for the Bednarik and Butkus awards.
The Jack Lambert Award has been presented since 1991 and Jewell will receive it during the 63rd Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards on Feb. 17. Clemson’s Ben Boulware won the award last season.
