The thoughts

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz on Henry Geil: “Henry came down in April, last spring, for the first time with his mom. Later on his dad came with him. We had a good fit. Just luck of the draw sometimes. At least we’re on the right guys.’’

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz on signing just one running back in this class and Iowa’s depth at the position: “It’s fair to say that we may look at some of the guys we signed (at other positions) at running back. We have a couple in mind, (Tyrone) Tracy and (Samson) Evans both have the ability to run the football. We’ll figure that stuff out this summer. But I think we have some guys in this class. If we didn’t feel that way, we probably would have looked at taking another back. We considered that, but we felt we had the right guys.’’
