The thoughts

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz on landing Spencer Petras late in the recruiting process: “It really came down to two young men, both involved in playoff games. They were trying to make their choices. Spencer came her, had a very brief visit, he and his mom. We just really felt good about the way he projected with us. Fortunately for us, mom and dad and Spencer were comfortable with what they saw here, what they learned. We feel good about how it all came together.
