Iowa quarterback Jake Rudock (15) will return from a hip injury today to start under center against Indiana.

As expected, Jake Rudock is listed as the starter at quarterback for Iowa in Saturday’s 11 a.m. homecoming game against Indiana.

Coach Kirk Ferentz indicated during an interview with a satellite radio program last week he expected the junior to return to the lineup this week after missing the Purdue game with a hip pointer, and Rudock is listed at the top of the Hawkeyes’ depth chart released today.

C.J. Beathard, who made his first start in the Hawkeyes’ win over the Boilermakers, is listed as the backup, although Ferentz and offensive coordinator Greg Davis have both said Iowa plans to utilize both quarterbacks in some way beginning with this week’s game. Rudock had started the previous 18 games he had played.

Coming out of a bye week, the only other changes on the depth chart for Iowa (4-1) are on the offensive side of the ball.

Fullback Macon Plewa, who has missed the last three games with an injury, returns this week and is listed as the backup to John Kenny at fullback.

The other changes involve reserves on the offensive line. Eric Simmons, who was listed as the backup center along with Tommy Gaul, is now listed as the backup to Sean Welsh at left guard and Boone Myers, who had been backing up Welsh, replaces former Riverdale prep Mitch Keppy as the backup to Jordan Walsh at right guard. Gaul remains listed as the back-up at center.
