J.J. Raterink, a quarterback for the Quad-City Steamwheelers' arena football team from 2006-09, was among 43 players with ties to the Arena Football League selected Friday in the inaugural China Arena Football League draft.

Raterink was chosen by the Guangzhou Power which will be part of a six-team league which will bring professional football to the Chinese market.

Former Western Illinois receiver Reggie Gray, also an AFL veteran, was selected by the Quingdao Clipper team.

All six teams in the league are required to include at least 10 Chinese players on their roster.
