Galesburg 45, UT 44: The United Township girls' basketball team was able to keep the score close throughout Thursday night's Western Big 6 game against Galesburg, but were unable to come away with the win in overtime despite having a few chances at the buzzer.

UT sophomore Jade Hunter sent the game into overtime with a layup under the basket that tied the game at 40. A bucket from junior Jasmine Bell and two clutch free throws from Davianna Morgan put the Panthers up 44-40 in the extra session, but a 3 from Galesburg senior Andrea Sampson and a layup from classmate Kelsi Legge iced the game for the Silver Streaks.

"It could have gone either way in that overtime period," UT coach Carie Walker said. "It came down to the fundamentals, and we just weren't able to hold on."
