Pleasant Valley's Ellie Spelhaug jumps to shoot during the regional final against Iowa City West recently. Spelhaug was named the Mississippi Athletic Conference player of the year. 

Co-Mississippi Athletic Conference girls basketball champion Pleasant Valley snagged the top honors in all-league voting by the head coaches.

Senior Ellie Spelhaug, who has signed to continue her career at Bradley, was named the conference's player of the year. Jennifer Goetz was recognized as the league's coach of the year. 

Spelhaug was named to the MAC's first team for the third consecutive year. The 5-foot-10 Spelhaug averaged a league-best 17.1 points per game and pulled in more than 5 rebounds per contest. She finished her career with a school-record 1,372 points and helped the Spartans to a 21-2 season. 

She was joined on the first team by teammate Kira Arthofer, an Eastern Illinois signee. Arthofer averaged 13.2 points per game and led the conference in steals (97). 

Davenport North's Paige Bradford is on the first team for the second consecutive year. Bradford finished her career with 1,493 points, the most among active players. 

Co-champion North Scott and Bettendorf each had two first-team selections. The Lancers were represented by sophomore guard Presley Case and sophomore post Grace Boffeli. Case was the MAC leader in assists (97), and Boffeli was the conference's top rebounder (9.7 per game).

Bettendorf, meanwhile, had senior Emily Ivory and junior Kylie Wroblewski on the first team. Ivory, headed to Missouri-Kansas City, is on the top squad for the third straight year. 

Goetz was voted as the top coach for the second consecutive season.
