PORT BYRON — After coming up just short of a sectional championship in 2021, the Riverdale boys' track and field squad was able to clear that hurdle last spring.

Moline's Rob Pulliam earned a state runner-up medal and Saiheed Jah placed in both hurdle events. All three Geneseo final qualifiers placed - highlighted by Cooper Schaad's third place finish.
All three Moline state qualifiers - Saiheed Jah, Jaeger Norton and Rob Pulliam - advanced to the finals at the IHSA boys track & field state meet. UT's Akim Baba-Traore also moved on.

Tipton freshman Clay Bohlmann placed third in the 1,600 at the Class 2A state meet Saturday in Des Moines.
Northeast senior Ellie Rickertsen finished her career as a five-time state champion with a repeat victory in the Class 2A 100 hurdles Saturday in Des Moines.
Annawan-Wethersfield's Kennedy Anderson earned three state medals after impressive performances in the distance events. Sherrard had four state medalists and Fulton's Lauren Mahoney was on the podium twice.
Geneseo girls track and field finished third at the state meet behind the performances of Annie Wirth and Ali Rapps. Wirth defended her high jump title with another, and Rapps now holds two school records.
Davenport Assumption earned a runner-up finish in the 1,600 relay and a third-place finish in the sprint medley relay Saturday at the Class 3A state meet.
