The efforts were a part of the 20-person Food Pantry Committee, which has been donating leftover food and drinks from the Walmart Post-Race Party since the early 1990s.
The success fair is Wednesday, Aug. 13, at NorthPark Mall in Davenport from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. About 100 employers and community resources are expected to attend.
"I don't want to give anyone the satisfaction of knowing that you stopped me," owner Constance Westerfield said.
The gift will support the Community Foundation's Hunt and Diane Harris Center for Nonprofit Excellence. Hunt Harris died in 2023 at the age of 74.
Prices in the Quad-Cities are 47.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 73.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
A deal is pending for the Quad-City Times building in Davenport. A local developer is exploring plans to bring in multiple tenants.
