The store offers Mexican groceries, household supplies, spices, teas, cultural arts and crafts, clothing, hats, purses, bedding, piñatas and other specialty items. The business features two retail areas, with groceries and household goods in the front section and clothing and additional merchandise in a separate room at the back of the store.
Store hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

A well-known bar and restaurant, The Doc's Inn Bar & Grill, is under new ownership. The bar and grill is located at 985 Avenue of the Cities in Silvis.
John Stopolous has owned and operated The Doc's Inn since 2011 and last day of operating the bar and grill was Monday, June 15. The good news is The Doc’s Inn is not closing. It is simply moving forward with a new owner and a new, exciting vision.
Stopolous announced a change in ownership on Facebook.
"Marybeth and I want to say THANK YOU," the post read.
"Thank you for every memory you helped make at The Doc’s Inn. From the grand opening to Banana Ball, the Craig Curless Chicken Fry, UT Athletics, Blackhawks championships, the Cubs World Series, End of the Month parties, Bombs for Bucks, and all the casual nights spent together — we will always be grateful.
"We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked with us over the years. The Doc’s Inn would not have been what it was without the people behind the bar, in the kitchen, and everyone who helped make our customers feel welcome.
"Marybeth and I look forward to becoming two of the regulars and continuing to support one of the best places ever."
Operation hours are 2 p.m.-midnight Monday-Wednesday, 2 p.m.- 1 a.m. Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-midnight Sunday. The bar and grill has takeout, dine-in, and outdoor seating.

Elevated Treatment and Recovery Solutions to open in East Moline
Elevated Treatment and Recovery Solutions, a new drug addiction treatment center, is opening Monday in East Moline.
The community is invited to an open house on Monday, June 29, from 3–5 p.m. Guests can enjoy light refreshments, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at 918 15th Ave. in East Moline.
The new drug addiction treatment center is an Illinois-licensed, Quad Cities-based agency operating out of Rock Island County that provides DUI evaluations and Risk Education services in compliance with Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery standards.

World’s Best Cat Litter manufacturing facility in Muscatine
For more than 25 years, KENT WORLDWIDE, has been a pioneer in innovative plant-based litter products and celebrated its new World’s Best Cat Litter flagship manufacturing facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.

“This expansion is a direct result of the increasing demand for the World’s Best Cat Litter,” said Steve Gordon, President of KENT WORLDWIDE Consumer Brands. “Our customers have come to rely on us to provide high-quality, corn-based litter products for their pets, and this new facility marks an exciting milestone for our organization in a community that plays such a vital role in our company’s history.”
Sitting on 70 acres, the 174,000-square-foot facility is equipped with research and development spaces and is designed for future growth opportunities to meet growing consumer demand. The location of this facility was selected due to its strategic location near the company’s headquarters and its proximity to the distribution center. At scale, the new facility will employ approximately 96 people, helping to further the local economy in Muscatine.
“We are proud to support KENT WORLDWIDE’s continued growth in Muscatine through this new manufacturing plant,” said Muscatine Mayor Dr. Brad Bark. “The city of Muscatine and KENT WORLDWIDE have a deep-rooted partnership, and we look forward to the future together.”

Yanks and Shanks Disc Golf shop, which opened in 2024, is permanently closed.
Yanks and Shanks Disc Golf, located at 3416 46th Ave. in Rock Island, shared the news to customers on Facebook on Wednesday, June 17.
In the Facebook post, Yanks and Shanks said it will finish out the tournaments it has scheduled and discs will still be on-site at tournaments to use "funny money." The shop's last day of operations was Sunday, June 28.
