Virtual Ventures grand opening on June 18
Virtual Ventures will be celebrating the official grand opening of their new virtual reality theme park.
Virtual Ventures will host a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, located at NorthPark Mall in Davenport, at Mall Entrance 5, by Von Maur.
The virtual theme park posted May 29 on Facebook they be offering free live demos from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
"Come explore our brand new cutting-edge 5D virtual reality rides, meet the team, and enter for a chance to win amazing party package giveaways. Drawings will be held at noon and 1 p.m.," the post read.
The post said they will continue to offer private parties with their updated lobby featuring free arcade games for birthday parties, adults-only events, team-building events, or just a family/friends party.

They will be open for walk-in services in addition to private parties. The virtual reality entertainment center opened in July 2022 and was previously located at Johnson School building in Davenport.
Virtual Ventures is an immersive entertainment center utilizing advanced headsets, haptic vests, and motion platforms to transport guests into digital worlds. Combining physical, multisensory experiences—such as wind, scents, and heat—with virtual visuals, customers participate in team-based arena shooters, flight simulators, roller coasters, and more.

The Movement Collective, formerly known as Tina's Dance Studio, is under new ownership. The Movement Collective is a performing arts school leading dance, tumbling, and cheer.

A full-service, local veterinary clinic is now open in DeWitt welcoming clients and patients into the new DeWitt Pet Hospital. The veterinary clinic is located at 517 First St. in DeWitt.
Dr. Troy Stafford and the DeWitt Pet Hospital team announced Sunday, June 7, on Facebook of the opening.
"While a few finishing touches are still being completed, everything is fully functional and ready to serve you and your pets," the Facebook post read.
"We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this first week as our team adjusts to working in a completely new environment. There are sure to be a few bumps along the way, but we are excited to embrace this new chapter and all the opportunities it brings."
The veterinary clinic also plans to host an open house later this summer once they settle in.

Midwest Technical Institute will celebrate their recent expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at noon, Wednesday, June 17, located at 3620 Avenue of the Cities in Moline.
