Cisco’s Mexican Bar & Grill 2 opens in Bettendorf
Cisco’s Mexican Bar & Grill has opened a new secondary location in Bettendorf.
Cisco’s Mexican Bar & Grill 2 is located at 3262 Ridge Point Road, Bettendorf, in the former Meli's Café location.
The new Bettendorf location will feature select chicken and seafood options, such as salmon and catfish.
The restaurant will be relatively the same as the downtown Moline Mexican bar and grill, but it will feature a few new menu items. Click here to view menu.

Cisco's Mexican Bar & Grill 2 is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Coal Valley’s Fareway Meat & Grocery sets grand opening
Fareway Stores Coal Valley announced on Facebook this past weekend that the grand opening for its new Coal Valley location will take place at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
The new Coal Valley Fareway Meat & Grocery is located at 109 First St.
"Come celebrate with us as we open our doors and become part of the Coal Valley community! We can’t wait to serve you with quality meats, fresh groceries, friendly service, and great Fareway values," the post read.

The store will feature Fareway’s signature offerings, including fresh meat with a full-service butcher counter, farm-fresh produce, competitive prices and other customer-oriented features, including to-your-car carryout. Customers can also take advantage of FastLanes self-service checkout, online shopping and curbside pickup through Shop.Fareway.com.
In April 2024, Fareway Stores, Inc. announced plans to construct a roughly 17,000-square-foot store at the southeast corner of First St. and Route 6.
The last grocery store in Coal Valley Village, Jack & Jill, closed in 2008.
Family-owned Fareway currently operates over 139 stores across seven states, including Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Judy's Family Cafe opens in Aledo
Judy's Family Cafe, a Galesburg restaurant known for its social media videos, is open at its new Aledo location.
The new Judy's Family Cafe is located at 1600 SE Third St. in the former Miguel's Bar & Grill, which closed in December 2025.
The cafe and owner, Judy Wang, has gained nationwide attention through humorous social media videos across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Many of the videos showcase Judy's famous pancakes.
The new Aledo location serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, including the pancakes Judy's is known for.
Breakfast is served from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Mexican cuisine is available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Judy's has two locations in Galesburg: Judy's Family Cafe at 1195 N. Broad St. and Judy's Kitchen at 51 N. Prairie St.
Wang and Judy's Family Cafe have become known nationwide for their humorous social media videos and has been covered by national outlets such as "The Jennifer Hudson Show" and the New York Times.

Dollar Tree opened in the former Salvation Army Family Store in Moline.
The building at 701 19th Ave. in Moline was home to the thrift store, which closed last fall.
This is the second Dollar Tree for the city of Moline. Dollar Tree is also located at 3912 44th Ave. in Rock River Plaza.
Dollar Tree, a national retailer, is celebrating its 40th anniversary of value, convenience and discovery.
Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
