UPDATE: On Tuesday, April 21, the bakery announced on Facebook they had to delay their grand opening.
"Due to unforeseen maintenance issues beyond our control, we regret to inform you that our grand opening will be postponed for a few weeks. This decision was not made lightly; however, it is important to us that we are able to provide the highest quality experience to our guests from the very beginning."
The bakery will be reaching out directly to those who have been in contact with Nicole Rubitsky regarding prior arrangements to provide updates and discuss next steps.
"A new grand opening date will be announced soon, and we look forward to welcoming you once everything is fully prepared," Rubitsky said.

The sweet scent of fresh-baked cakes and artisanal treats is coming to Main Street in Geneseo.
I Bake It That Way Bakery will have its official grand opening celebration on Saturday, April 25. The bakery is located at 115 E. Main St. in Geneseo. The bakery invites the community to experience a day filled with sweetness, celebration, samples, and a first look at their unique dessert creations. I Bake It That Way Bakery is woman owned and operated by Nicole Rubitsky.
The festivities kick off early at 8 a.m., with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as the first 50 visitors will receive a complimentary decorated cookie to mark the occasion.

Vera French Foundation to celebrate new housing development
The Vera French Foundation will hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate the brand new Carol’s Village Gardens on Friday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. The new housing development is located at 820 Harrison St in Davenport.
Located on the campus of Vera French’s Carol Center, 808 North Harrison, Carol’s Village Gardens is a new 30-unit housing development, developed jointly by the Vera French Community Mental Health Center, Vera French Housing & the Vera French Foundation.

Aura Collective Bungee Fitness to hold grand opening
The special fitness studio, Aura Collective Bungee Fitness, will hold a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, followed by grand opening from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The fitness studio is located at 735 Federal St. in Davenport.

St. Croix Hospice to hold ribbon cutting at their new facility
St. Croix Hospice facility in Moline will celebrate their new facility with a ribbon cutting. The ribbon cutting begins at 3 p.m., Thursday, April 30, at 1000 36th Ave., Suite 102.
The facility opened in December of 2025. The fifteen person staff is available nights, weekends, and holidays, providing in-person hospice care when its needed most. They strive to offer quality care to Moline residents and surrounding communities to help patients and their loved ones with the assistance needed for the end-of-life journey. St. Croix Hospice facility in Moline serves counties in Henry, Mercer and Rock Island. The Davenport branch serves counties in Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine and Scott.

Community Health Care, Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new CHC Muscatine Clinic. The new facility is located at 1221 Park Avenue.
Patients, community members, elected officials, stakeholders, CHC leadership and staff celebrated the significant expansion to accessible, affordable, high-quality healthcare services for Muscatine and its surrounding communities.
The new 13,000 square-foot outpatient clinic provides affordable primary medical, dental and behavioral health care services. The clinic also contains a pharmacy area that will open in the coming months. The new facility will also serve as the home for CHC’s Outreach Services in Muscatine.
