Uplifted Energies Wellness Center set to open in downtown Davenport this fall
A new wellness center focused on bringing healing and holistic care to the community is set to open in downtown Davenport this September.
Uplifted Energies, founded by local Reiki Master and sound healer Sarah Skiles, plans to open its new wellness center this September at 212-214 W. Fourth Street in downtown Davenport, just across from the site of the 2023 building collapse.
"I couldn't walk away from opening here," Skiles said in a news release. "This neighborhood carries real grief. I wanted to bring something into that same block that offers people a place to breathe, to grieve if they need to, and to heal ... together, as a community."
The center will bring together a growing collection of independent practitioners. It will have five private treatment rooms offering services such as Reiki, massage and other one-on-one modalities, along with a dedicated group studio for yoga, sound baths and community events. The space will also serve as a community hub, with a lending library with books on healing, grief and self-care, and walls showcasing art from local artists. Skiles also hopes to add a small retail area, to feature local, women-owned and small businesses.
Accessibility is central to the vision, with the wellness center planning to regularly host pay-what-you-can days.
Beyond yoga and Reiki, Skiles plans to offer group breathwork, dance therapy, sound baths, Reiki trainings and mentorship and mini retreats.
"Healing doesn't look one way," Skiles said in the release. "Some people need quiet stillness. Some people need to move their bodies or dance it out. I want this to be a place where there's room for all of it."
The Uplifted Energies Wellness Center is targeting a September 2026 opening. More details on programming, practitioner offerings and community events will be shared in the coming weeks.
Founded in 2023, Uplifted Energies began as a solo Reiki and sound healing practice and has grown into a community-centered wellness collective in the Quad-Cities. Skiles is a Reiki Master, Sound Healing Level 2 practitioner, and certified children's and teen yoga instructor.
