MUSCATINE, Iowa – The City of Muscatine invites families and residents to celebrate Halloween safely and enjoy one of the community’s favorite traditions during official trick-or-treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.
Mayor Brad Bark announced the official hours during the Muscatine City Council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Residents who would like to welcome trick-or-treaters are encouraged to turn on their porch lights during the designated hours. Families are reminded to follow basic safety practices to help make the evening fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Halloween safety tips
Wear costumes that are easy to see in the dark by adding reflective tape, flashlights, or glow sticks.
Only visit homes with porch lights turned on.
Parents and guardians should accompany young children and inspect all treats before they are eaten.
Find additional Halloween safety guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics at HealthyChildren.org.
Motorists are also encouraged to use extra caution during trick-or-treat hours, as neighborhoods will see increased pedestrian traffic, especially from children crossing streets and moving between homes.
All Hallows Trunk or Treat returns Oct. 24
Before Halloween night arrives, families are invited to enjoy a frightfully fun evening at the All Hallows Trunk or Treat hosted by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Kent Stein Park.
Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and bring a trick-or-treat bag to collect goodies. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are welcome to dress up and join in the fun.
Attendees can gather treats, admire creative costumes, and visit dozens of decorated vehicles along the north side of Oneida Avenue. Parking will be available on the south side of Oneida Avenue within Kent Stein Park and at the Muscatine Soccer Complex, just a short walk from the event.
The City of Muscatine and Muscatine Parks and Recreation look forward to helping families create safe, memorable Halloween experiences and celebrate the season together.
