BETTENDORF, Iowa – June 1, 2026 – On Monday, June 8, weather permitting, crews will close Middle Road north of Interstate 80 so construction work can begin on the Spencer Creek culvert project, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Iowa DOT Davenport construction office.
During this closure, all ramps to I-80 will remain open. Traffic will be detoured via Indiana Avenue, Wells Ferry Road, and Forest Grove Drive. Middle Road is anticipated to reopen in fall 2026.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
