Get up close to a fire engine, sit in a police squad car, and meet the first responders of the City of Bettendorf.
On Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., the Bettendorf Police and Fire Departments will host their 2nd Annual Public Safety Open House at Fire Station #4 (5002 Crow Creek Road).
During this free, family-friendly event, attendees will experience up-close and inside views of police cars and fire engines, take a tour of the fire station, watch a virtual walk-through of the new police station, spend time with police officers and firefighters, and add color to the fire station’s driveway with sidewalk chalk.
“The Public Safety Open House is one of my favorite days of the year,” said Police Chief Doug Scott. “It’s a chance for families to explore our equipment, meet the officers and firefighters who serve Bettendorf every day, and build the community connections that keep our city strong. We’re excited to welcome everyone for a fun, safe, and engaging afternoon.”
“We’re excited to welcome our community to this year’s Public Safety Open House,” said Fire Chief Troy Said. “It’s a great opportunity for families to meet and interact with the firefighters and police officers who protect them every day and see firsthand how we keep Bettendorf safe.”
