Igor's Bistro food trailer opens in Moline

Igor's Bistro is back, now operating as a food trailer set up at regularly in the parking lot at Lifted Energy at 2430 16th St. in Moline. The food trailer had their opening day on Wednesday, July 9.

Igor's Bistro's breakfast all day menu consists of breakfast burritos, biscuits & gravy, fried egg sandwiches and extras such as hashbrown patty, bacon, chorizo or sausage patty. Operation hours are 7 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The popular bistro restaurant opened in Rock Island back in 2017 at 3055 38th St. In March of 2024, Igor's closed their doors at the Rock Island location. They announced there were plans in the works for something new.

Hollars Bar & Grill is permanently closed

Hollars Bar & Grill in Moline is permanently closed. The restaurant announced its closure on their website with a message of gratitude for its customers and the community. 

"This decision was not made lightly, as our time serving this community has meant the world to us. We are incredibly grateful for the support, loyalty, and friendship our customers have shown over the years. From the everyday regulars to those just passing through, each of you became part of our story—and we will always cherish the memories we created together," the restaurant said in the post.

Hollars had a casual, kid-friendly atmosphere known for its chicken wings, particularly the "Daytona" flavor.

Food truck Tacos Al Vapor opens restaurant

Tacos Al Vapor food truck, serving authentic Mexican food, opened their new restaurant in Davenport on June 25. The new restaurant, Tacos Al Vapor - Restaurant, is located at 3871 Elmore Avenue, Suite A. in Davenport, the former Brasero space near Sam's Club. The food truck will continue operating as well.

Tacos Al Vapor - Restaurant announced the updates on their restaurant and food truck on Tuesday, July 8, on Facebook. The restaurant will have a similar menu to the food truck. 

The Mexican restaurant is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday.

Meli’s Café opens in Bettendorf

Meli’s Café is the newest breakfast and brunch restaurant in Bettendorf. The popular Meli's Pancake House first opened in 2021 in downtown Moline and expanded to its second location, Meli's Café, in Bettendorf. The restaurant held a grand opening on Friday, July 11. 

Meli's Café is located at 3260 Ridge Point Road in Bettendorf. The Bettendorf branch is situated in the former Anytime Fitness space across the street from Red Apple daycare and Atomic Coffee. In June 2024 Meli's acquired Links Breakfast & Lunch, located at 5619 Utica Ridge Road, in Davenport. They closed that location in December and found a new home for Meli's Café in Bettendorf. 

Meli's Café has a large selection of breakfast items that includes skillets, omelets, sweet delights, gluten-free pancakes and classic items. For lunch there's a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps and more. They also offer a kids menu and a coffee menu with signature drinks and classics. The Bettendorf location has a drink menu with alcohol and  smoothies.

Operation hours are 6 a.m.-3 p.m., daily. Services include dine-in, outdoor seating and in-store pickup. Follow Meli's Café Facebook page for updates. 

Chef's Island Express in Bettendorf

Chef's Island Express is open in Duck Creek Plaza off Middle Road at 842 Middle Road in Bettendorf.

At Chef’s Island Express, the food is fresh, uses quality ingredients and the food is influenced by Caribbean and Island-style. The menu consists of appetizers, meals, sides, kids menu, beverages, tropical sweets and a catering menu. Click here to view menu. New special menu items are coming soon.

Chef Josh Weathers is the owner and chef with 24 years in the culinary field. Taco Bell ribbon cutting in Davenport

Border Foods – Taco Bell will host a ribbon cutting to celebrate their grand opening on Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at their new location at 1736 W. Kimberly Road in Davenport.
