MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 1, to gather input on a long-term financing plan for Phase 6E of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project. The hearing begins at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, second floor of Muscatine City Hall, where residents may offer public comments on the proposed financing plan.
The City is nearing the final stages of a multi-year effort to meet requirements of an Environmental Consent Order, which mandates completion of major sewer separation projects by 2028. The proposed $8.3 million State Revolving Fund loan would support Phase 6E, now underway. Previous phases were funded in 2023 (6A, 6B), 2024 (6C), and 2025 (6D).
A resolution to approve the loan agreement is scheduled for a vote later in the meeting.
