Museums are all about immersion, and the Putnam Museum and Science Center is taking this a step further by launching a new virtual and mixed-reality option for its "Unearthing Ancient Egypt" exhibit. Â
Cindy Yang, CEO of the Putnam Museum and Science Center, uses the new mixed-reality experience in the ancient Egypt room on Friday, Feb. 21, in Davenport. The museum partnered with VictoryXR to create a virtual-reality and mixed-reality experience of the "Unearthing Ancient Egypt" exhibit.Â
The new mixed-reality experience will give museum-goers a chance to interact with the "Unearthing Ancient Egypt" exhibit in a fresh way. Users will be able to move around the room and pick up objects to better explore the past.
Creators of the mixed-reality experience, Aaron Hagens and Daniel Coyle of VictoryXR, watch on as Cindy Yang demos the new program at the Putnam Museum on Friday, Feb. 21, in Davenport.Â
