ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings track & field program will host a series of summer training opportunities this July designed to help high school athletes sharpen event-specific skills, gain competitive experience, and get a closer look at the Vikings' program culture.
The centerpiece of the summer schedule includes two on-campus track & field camps set for Monday, July 20 and Monday, July 27. These single-day clinics will feature event-specific instruction led by Augustana coaching staff and student-athletes, with training sessions covering sprints, distance, hurdles, jumps, and throws.
Each camp includes lunch along with structured event meetings focused on technical and tactical development within each discipline. The goal is to help athletes continue refining their skills while training in a collegiate environment.
Athletes and families will also have the opportunity to take part in an optional campus visit prior to each camp date. These visits provide an opportunity to explore Augustana College and the surrounding Rock Island area, located just over the Iowa border and within driving distance of cities such as Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. Registration cost is $55/attendee.
