Mi Oaxaca, Mexican food truck, opening restaurant

The Mi Oaxaca food truck is opening a restaurant in Silvis. The Quad-Cities food truck is opening the new restaurant in the former Punk Rock Pizza and Brewery at 637 First St., making the announcement on Facebook.

"We will continue to serve you from our food truck until the season is over BUT we can’t wait to offer you dine-in experience at our new location with more authentic Oaxacan dishes you’ll love. Thank you all for your continued support. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. Stay tuned for opening day!" the post said.

The Mexican food truck serves authentic Oaxacan tacos, quesadillas, flautas, tostadas and more. Catering is available.

Soul Ties restaurant open to the public

Soul Ties, a soul food restaurant, opened to the public over Labor Day weekend in downtown Davenport. The restaurant is owned by Lynsi Baker with her daughters, Kenade and Eriana Brown. The mother and daughters trio were providing carryout meals prior to opening to the public. Click here to read more. 

Soul Ties is located at 118 Fourth St. in downtown Davenport. The dine-in restaurant is open from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with brunch from noon-3 p.m. on weekends. The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Halal Grill opens in Quad-Cities

A new authentic Arabic and Indo-Pak cuisine is now serving in Davenport. Halal Grill opened in July and is located at 1205 E. Locust St. in Davenport. 

The restaurant serves a variety of halal dishes, including chicken over rice, lamb over rice, kufta, kabobs, falafel and samosas — all made with traditional recipes and quality ingredients.

Coffeehouse + Kitchen to welcome new ownership 

Vibrant Coffeehouse + Kitchen is seeking new owners.

This move comes as Vibrant continues to grow as one of the nation’s top equipment lenders and deposit institutions, the credit union said in a press release. 

Vibrant has hired Marigold Resources to guide the sale process. The doors will stay open at Vibrant Coffeehouse + Kitchen, the release said.

Vibrant Credit Union coffeehouses include locations in in Moline, Bettendorf and Des Moines.
