Silvis bakery opens, Fareway holds groundbreaking and more Quad-Cities business news

Fifth Avenue Syndicate Bistro & Bar is now serving breakfast, with the menu available from 6-11 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Fifth Avenue Syndicate started serving breakfast on Nov. 6. They have breakfast favorites with a few Syndicate twists, from sweet and savory classics to plates that pair perfectly with a Bloody Mary or mimosa. Their menu is available for dine-in, and they’re located at 1630 Fifth Ave. in Moline, inside The Axis Hotel. You can reach them at 309-640-0070.

Rose Creations Bakery opens in Silvis

The family-owned bakery, Rose Creations Bakery, is back and open for the winter in Silvis. The bakery is open from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. Wednesday through Friday and is located at 500 First Ave. in Silvis. The storefront bakery will be open until April.

Rose Creations, owned by Rose Hameier, is a licensed home bakery. Hagmeier bakes at her home in Porty Byron and then sells at various locations and now her storefront. It is filled with fresh cinnamon rolls, cookies, quick breads, caramel apples and more. Hagmeier is known for her cookies, pies, bread, cakes, and bundt cakes for any occasion. Every weekend Hagmeier sells 500 of her fresh cinnamon rolls, she said.

She is an outside vendor at The Freight House in Davenport during the summer and winter months. The bakery also sells baked goods at the Geneseo Farmers Market. Follow the Rose Creations Facebook page for locations and updates.

Fareway celebrates with groundbreaking in Coal Valley

Fareway hosted a groundbreaking for the new Coal Valley Fareway Meat & Grocery Store at the new store location, 109 First St., on Friday, Nov. 21.

Fareway Stores, Inc. announced plans in April of 2024, to construct a roughly 17,000-square-foot store at the southeast corner of First Street and U.S. Route 6.

Coal Valley has roughly 3,900 residents and its last grocery store, Jack & Jill, closed in 2008.

Fareway Stores, Inc. is a growing Midwest grocery company currently operating more than 140 grocery store locations in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Plus Saporis announces new winter hours

The Mediterranean and Latin restaurant Plus Saporis announced it has changed its weekday hours. The new hours started on Monday, Nov. 17. From Monday through Thursday, the restaurant will be closed for lunch and will open for dinner service from 4:30-9 p.m.

Weekend hours will remain the same. Friday through Sunday lunch is available from 11 a.m,.-2:30 p.m. and dinner from 4:30-9:30 p.m.

Collette’s dueling piano bar opens

A new dueling piano bar, Collette’s, will open in downtown Davenport on Friday, Nov. 28.

Collette’s is located at 317 W. Third Street. The dueling piano bar is a 1,900 square foot space with a stage, sound system, bar, two grand pianos and seating.

On Fridays and Saturdays, the bar will host dueling pianists, offering sing-alongs and audience participation late into the night. Most nights, Collette’s will charge a cover of between around $12 to $15 to pay for the talent.

On Thursdays, Collette’s will feature Quad-Cities artists and will generally not charge for entry. Other days of the week, the venue be closed, but is available to rent for private events.
