Casey's General Store opens in East Moline

Casey's General Store has opened a new store at 4207 Seventh Street in East Moline on Dec. 5. The new store has eight gas pumps, groceries, and it's signature pizza off the corner of Seventh Street and of Avenue of the Cities.

The full convenience store has you covered offering coffee, donuts, and sandwiches to pizza and dessert. Custom ordering is available for sandwiches, pizza, pantry, essentials, and more. Click here to view what's available to order.

The Hungry Hobo opens at new location in Bettendorf

The Hungry Hobo has opened their newest drive-thru location in Bettendorf. The Hungry Hobo relocated from Elmore Avenue store to a new drive-thru at 3459 Forest Grove Drive, just west of the TBK Sports Complex in the Glen Grove development. The Glen Grove Hobo opened Dec. 6 and this is their fourth drive-thru location. There will be a ribbon cutting on Friday, Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. at the new location.

The quick-service restaurant specializes in sliced-to-order and grilled sandwiches, baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, chef-prepared soups and shredded lettuce salads, and desserts that are baked daily in The Hobo Bakery.

Coal Creek Inn to close the end of December

The popular local bar and grill, Coal Creek Inn, is set to close at the end of December in Coal Valley. The bar and grill made the announcement on their Facebook page on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Coal Creek Inn is located at 110 E. 22nd Ave. 

Coal Creek Inn's remaining anticipated days of operation is Dec. 10-14, Dec. 17-21, Dec. 24, Dec. 26-28, and possibly Dec. 31. Click here to read more. 

Parr Instrument Company ribbon cutting

Parr Instrument Company will hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate their expansion and renovation on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM. They are also celebrating 125 years. The facility is located at 211 53rd Street in Moline, IL.

Since its founding in 1899, Parr Instrument Company has been engaged in the manufacture and sale of chemical reactors, pressure vessels, calorimeters, combustion vessels, and related equipment developed specifically for laboratory use.

Throughout its history, the primary emphasis in all Parr manufacturing has been to provide its customers with quality apparatus, carefully designed for each application and backed by a competent technical support staff with many years of experience in this specialized field.

Makenna Koffee opens in Davenport

The new Makenna Koffee made its debut on Dec. 3. The beach-themed coffee spot is located at 3801 N. Brady St. in Davenport in the former Vibrant Credit Union building.
