Paints BBQ opens in Colona 

There's a new barbecue restaurant in Colona. The Texas-style Paints BBQ opened on July 17 and is located at 5775 Poppy Garden Road in Colona, inside Scott Family Park, downstairs at the clubhouse. The restaurant has dine-in, outdoor seating and takeout available. 

Paints BBQ serves low and slow smoked meats and sides. Menu items include ribs, rib tips, pulled pork, house made jalapeño and cheddar sausage and more. Sides are all house-made as well, with fresh natural cut fries, barbeque beans and coleslaw. The restaurant is a walk-in only at this time. Follow Paints BBQ Facebook page for updates. 

"As of right now, our hours are not 100%," said Chase Painter, owner of Paints BBQ. "We are waiting for the delivery of a bigger smoker, and that is 4-5 weeks away. Once we have the large smoker, we are hoping for at least one day through the week and Saturday/Sunday. Hours will be 11 a.m. until sold out, which is a model that this area isn't used to. We are just trying to bring the full Texas BBQ joint experience to the QC, and that means weekends/sold out model."

Miguel's Street Tacos opens in Eldridge

Miguel's Street Tacos food truck opened a brick-and-motor restaurant on July 15. The authentic Mexican restaurant is located at 350 E. LeClaire Road in Eldridge. 

Miguel's Street Tacos restaurant has a variety of items on their menu, including appetizers, dinners, à la carte items, a kids menu, margaritas and more. Click here to view menu. 

Operations hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Yabba Dabbas House of Glass closing vape stores

Yabba Dabbas House of Glass, a retail chain specializing in tobacco and vape products, is closing all four of their locations. Bettendorf and Davenport are closed, while Moline and East Moline are currently open, liquidating all their inventory at 35% off. Everything from coolers, cases, fixtures, art and inventory are available for cash only. The Moline location is at 4416 Avenue of the Cities and East Moline is located at 209 12th Ave. 

Owner Heather Dabbas said in a Facebook post that she's been in business for over 10 years when she opened the stores and she has seen the industry and economy change, citing changes like the rise in internet shopping, increased local competition and "new tariffs, taxes, and permits."

"East Moline will be the last shop standing, and will remain open until it no longer makes sense," Dabbas said.

Yabba Dabba sells smoking accessories, vapes, heady glass, water pipes, CBD products and disc golf items. 

Ray's Roundabout Lounge opens in Bettendorf

The Quad-Cities' newest bar and lounge officially opened on Thursday, July 19. Ray's Roundabout Lounge is located near the TBK Banks Sports Complex at 5295 Competition Drive in Bettendorf. The lounge bar has a luxurious setting in a sophisticated atmosphere that specializes in rare top-shelf bourbons and handcrafted cocktails. The lounge bar also had a pool table in the back and outdoor seating. 

Operation hours are noon-2 a.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

TWO MEN AND A JUNK TRUCK will host a ribbon cutting to celebrate a new service in the Quad-Cities on Wednesday, July 30, at 10 a.m. The business is located at 5000 Tremont Ave., Building 200, Suite 202, in Davenport.
