El Barril Mexican Restaurant Two to close
El Barril Mexican Restaurant Two, in Cambridge, announced Tuesday on Facebook that they will close at the end of January. The Mexican restaurant is located at 105 N. Prospect St.
"It is with much sadness that we are closing our doors at the end of January. We held on as long as we could, but between not having enough business to pay our bills, let alone keep staff, we just can't go on. With that being said, I am only one man and I can't take on a large crowd alone, so starting today until we close, we will only be open for to-go orders. We appreciate all of the support over these last 8 months and we will miss you all."
Owners Christine and Agustin Cuchil Brito have their first and remaining restaurant, El Barril, in Edgington, which is open. In October 2025, El Barril 3, in Galesburg, closed.Â
