Zeke's last day of operation was Saturday, July 26. Zeke's at the Best Western Steeplegate Inn announced the closure on its Facebook page on July 11.Â
Zeke's original recipes and some employees moved to Chef's Island Express, which became the new ownership of Island Express, at 842 Middle Road, Bettendorf, located in Duck Creek Plaza.
"We want to say thank you for joining us for over 11 years," Zeke's Facebook post said. "The story of Zeke's has changed throughout the years as our guests and supporters remember recipes, faces, menu items, and many locations.
"It has always been about the tribe. That is what makes Zeke's so special. It has been the culmination of feedback and requests from guests, employees, partners, and everyone in between in real time. This is what built the foundation for gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and low carb availability. The amazing people from all over the world that shared their culture and even recipes is why we truly are in this together."Â
