The Bakehouse by Creative Signature Cuisine is set open on Saturday, Aug. 30. The new bakery and coffee shop is a couple doors down from Creative Signature Cuisine, located at 201 12th Ave. in East Moline near The Bend. The new bakery and coffee shop was originally known as Creative Pastry. The Bakehouse will offer fresh bread, coffee drinks, treats, including some new items and has a drive-thru.Â

The Cafe Express Deli has added a new breakfast menu to their popular sandwich shop. The local deli and sandwich shop in Davenport has been creating homemade, fresh food since 1987, and is owned by Lena Georgi. The local deli started serving breakfast on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Official breakfast hours are 8:30-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Georgi said they will see how Saturdays go with breakfast.Â

The owners of Furnish 123 announced they are calling it quits. Owners, Lee and Tricia White announced they are retiring on Facebook and in a letter sent out to neighbors and customers.
"We have been in the business for 17 years, and now we sadly must retire," the Whites said in the letter. "We love the Quad Cities and surrounding areas, and we thank you for your patronage in the past."
The furniture store has three Quad-City area locations:Â

- 825 W. 4th St., Davenport
- Kennedy Square Shopping Center, 123 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline

Spirit Halloween is located in the former Party City at 5255 Elmore Ave., Davenport. The Halloween and costume store is open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturdays and noon-6 p.m. on Sundays.Â

Horizon Science Academy Davenport will hold a ribbon-cutting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29. The new charter school is located at 2626 Boies Ave. in Davenport.
